Congratulations to George and Megan. Last night was gorgeous, especially after a very long spell of unusually cold, windy and rainy weather.
Not last night though! Clear skies and soft lapping surf. Beautiful bride and bridesmaids, handsome groom and groomsman. Everyone there to have fun. It was A Perfect Day!

I love getting photos of the details from photo shoots. Here is one from yesterday using my new lens from Santa. It is so much fun getting “BETTER ANGLES”…
🙂

The past few days brought us to unseasonable temperatures reaching the low 60s. That did not stop the McDonnells from having fun on the beach!
Eva was the star today. All the kids were great and I wish them safe travels back to Ireland – see you next time you are in Cayman. I’ll work on sorting out the weather!

Well… what a busy Christmas season with professional photography, now comes my busy season as non-profit pubicist and spokesperson. I do spend time donating photography services, but I also gain contract work as a consultant in the non-proft sector. I feel like that constant connection to creativity and social life keeps me sharp when it comes to dealing with photos at any event, large or small. Plus it makes me feel good about contributing to the greater good. Sleeping good at night. Good Karma. All that.

This morning after the wedding of Barbara and Terry, a leap of faith was taken into the Caribbean Sea at Smith Cove, located just south of George Town, Grand Cayman.
I suppose this means that we can have Trash The Dress sessions with then entire bridal party from now on!
what fun!!!
🙂

I hope the Hay family had a great dinner tonight at The Wharf. The fish feeding is great fun! It seems that Cayman may get another weather system – the waves were beautiful rolling up the beach tonight. Everyone got only slightly wet.

You would not believe how quickly the clouds parted to make way for an outstanding sunset for Rebecca and David. shown best in last photo below.
Most of these photos are in black and white at the couple’s request. I supplied them an additional file of ALL THEIR PHOTOS converted to black and white. They can select either colour or black and white for their albums.
ABOUT THE NEW LENS….
The first photo of the rings (the real close up) is a fancy new lens (Nikon F2.8 macro 105mm) that I got as an early Christmas present from Santa. I sent Santa a text a couple of weeks ago with the special request – I knew Santa had texting facilities…. he’s SANTA!
You can see in that first macro shot that Rebecca and Jason had their initials engraved on the inside of the rings. With this new lens I can get such a wide variety of details. I love it!! Thank you Santa!! 🙂

At the annual Little Cayman National Trust Auction, Janet Walker was the successful bidder for a Family Portrait session with Better Angle. She donated the funds and I donated the portraits. The Coleman Family and Locke Family also bid on the family portrait session and so I agreed to donate three sessions.
Thank you Janet for your strong commitment to our environment and for raising children who understand the spirit of giving back to the community.

The same day we arrived back from the Barbados Destination wedding, both David and I photographed Nels and Sheila from Seattle, Washington. They’ve been engaged about a week and were in Grand Cayman on vacation and staying at the Westin Casaurina Resort on Seven Mile Beach.
These photos were taken further up Seven Mile Beach towards West Bay.
